A Warm Welcome to K. Dawn Byrd

Is there a story behind your book Hotline Girl?
I thought it would be fun to explore how a couple could fall in love on-line. When my heroine's high school begins a counseling hotline, she's chosen to work it anonymously. She finds herself giving advice to a guy she's had a crush on forever. Once she knows all the hero's secret, will love blossom or fail? When he divulges the problems he's having with his girlfriend, she's tempted to give him advice that will break them up. Will she do the right thing?

What distracts you from writing the easiest?
Noise. I must have total peace and quiet when I write. My husband watches a lot of TV and I can't even be in the same room when writing.

What makes you smile and/or laugh out loud?
Watching my ferrets sleep makes me smile. They curl up into the oddest shapes.  Watching them play makes me laugh out loud. They're so much fun!

Are there things you put off doing because you dread them?
Unloading the dishwasher. I absolutely hate it. I don't mind loading it though. My husband knows how much I abhor the task and usually does it for me.

Where is your favorite place to travel/vacation in?
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is my favorite place on earth. I have a lot of fond memories of the coast and hope to retire there some day.

What's your favorite meal with family and friends?
We have a wonderful Mexican restaurant in our small town. I love eating there with friends. I'm a big fan of the chicken burrito fajita.

What is your least favorite time of year?
Winter. I absolutely hate, and I do mean hate, snow!

When is your next book due out and can you tell us about it?
I'm currently taking a break from traditional publishing and pursuing other avenues. I may self-publish a few titles just for fun. I'm not working on anything in the Christian fiction genre right now, but I do have a couple of ideas.

Back Cover Blurb

When the school counselor asks Abby to work a counseling chat line, she begs her to choose someone else. When Race, Abby's three-year crush, begins using the chat line to talk about his girlfriend problems, can Abby be impartial when she really wants to tell him to dump her?

Race notices Abby after she has a complete make-over. He begins to spend more time with her and feels like a cheater because he likes the hotline girl too. How can he like two girls at once?

Abby is thrilled when Race begins spending time with her, but she's crushed when he tells the hotline girl that he likes her and wants to take her out. Is he a player? Will he even want to be with her when he finds out that she is the hotline girl and knows all his deepest secrets?
