The Eden Diet by Dr. Rita Hancock

Back Cover Blurb:

What if you could eat whatever you wanted and still lose weight? In The Eden Diet, Dr. Rita Hancock teaches you to use those hunger pangs that God gave you as a compass for losing weight. She does this through a simple technique called “The Apple Test.” The premise of the test is that when you’re physically hungry, you will likely think an apple sounds good enough to eat. When you’re emotionally hungry, only sweet, salty, starchy, or high fat foods tend to appeal to you.

If you take The Apple Test and find that you are physically rather than emotionally hungry, you get to eat “normal” food—even rich, delicious desserts and fried food—but in moderation. And when you are tempted by false hungers (emotions, the sight or smell of food, mindless eating, etc.), you are shown ways to break the old, harmful patterns and turn to God through prayer. That way, you can lose weight and keep it off permanently, just like Dr. Hancock did!

Dr. Rita Hancock is a board-certified non-surgical musculoskeletal physician with subspecialty board certification in pain management. In addition to writing health and wellness books from the Christian perspective, Dr. Rita also serves as the Oklahoma state representative in the House of Representatives of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, is a health blogger for The Christian Post, a blogger for the acclaimed Wordserve Watercooler writer’s blog, and appears on radio (including K-love and Moody Radio) and television (including TBN) talking about health and wellness issues.
