Meet Lillian Duncun

People talk about life before children—what was your life before writing?
It seems as if one form or another, my life is about words and communication. I’m a speech pathologist so I help others become better communicators. Along with that I was an avid reader.

What book have you recently enjoyed reading?
For nonfiction, Authenticity by Chad Young is the book on my bookstand at the moment. Fiction is The Story of the Stars by Yvonne Anderson.

If you were a dessert, what would you be?
Peanut butter cookies. You know the ones with the chocolate kiss on top. I love those.

If you were to find a purple polka-dotted monster in your kitchen one morning, how would you respond?
I’d ask him/her why they hadn’t made the coffee yet! The rule in our house is first up makes the coffee!
Tell us about one of your favorite memories or moments in your life.
My wedding to my wonderful husband is up at the top of the list. I had a crush on him in high school but it took another 30 years before we got together. It’s been great ever since. Watching the video still makes me cry—even after ten years!

What's one of your dreaded things to do?
Housework—Paperwork—Work in general. I’d much rather write than work in any form!!

What is the Lord teaching you, or recently taught you?
That it’s not all about me!  As a writer, I tend to get so focused on myself and my books, I forget there are other people in the world to worry about—not just my characters.
When is your next book due out and can you tell us about it?
DECEPTION is about a set of twins who are estranged from each other. When a niece, Patti knows nothing about calls and asks, “where’s mommy?” her life gets very complicated very quickly.
DECEPTION was released on December 30. This is a book near and dear to my heart. You can read why on my blog at www.lillianduncan.wordpress.com

Lil’ is giving away an ebook copy of Deception. The giveaway is only available to U.S. addresses. To be entered in the book giveaway, leave a comment. You can enter the book giveaway twice--once on each spotlight post.

Until next time . . . Sharon A. Lavy
