wtih Susan Page Davis

Welcome to the Barn Door Book Loft, Susan!
What kind of books do you enjoy reading?

I like to read mysteries, historicals, romance—anything with a good story. I’ve recently read Laurie Kingery’s The Outlaw’s Lady and Ann B. Ross’s Miss Julia Speaks Her Mind. Up next is The Amish Nanny, by Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould.

What is the quirkiest thing you have ever done?
Scouted around the Maine Capitol for a sniping position (for a book, of course).

Are there things you put off doing because you dread them?
A few, in the housework category, but usually I prefer to do something quickly, get it out of the way, and relax afterward.

What's your favorite meal with family and friends?
Lasagna, salad, and bread.

Share a verse or Scripture passage with us that is special to you.
”I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me” —Isaiah 45:5 This verse reminds me, even in the most difficult times, that God is in control.

When is your next book due out and can you tell us about it?
The Lady’s Maid will release October 1. Two English ladies go to America in 1855, to search for Lady Anne’s uncle, who has inherited the title of earl, but doesn’t know that yet. Their search leads them to Independence, Mo., where they join a wagon train in hopes of finding him in Oregon.
