with Lynette Eason

It's Hartline week here at The Book Loft! All of this week's books were contracted by Hartline Literary. Enjoy!
Welcome back to the Barn Door Book Loft, Lynette!
What started you on your writing journey?

I was lonely. I was a stay at home mom, my husband traveled all the time with his job and I needed something to besides babbling to my six month old. LOL. I’ve always wanted to write a book so I figured that point was as good a time to start as any.

What distracts you from writing the easiest?
The internet! Seriously, I get TONS of emails every day. And since I answer my own email –and try to do so in a timely fashion—it’s really something that takes away from the writing. I’m working on being more disciplined in that area.

What kind of books do you enjoy reading?
I love the kind of books that I write. Romantic Suspense, although I’m leaning toward thrillers. I also love a good detective/cop book. Mysteries fascinate me. Right now, I’m reading Mark Mynheir’s newest, The Corruptible. So far, I’m giving it a thumbs up. :)

Which character in your new release most interested you while you wrote?
In A Killer Among Us, Kit Kenyon was full of anger and fire and yet she hadn’t lost her gentle, compassionate side. She was really confused and hurting and trying to figure out where she fit in life. And where God fit in with her. She was multi-layered and complex. And was just right for Noah Lambert, her new partner.

If you were a style of music, what style would you be?
Country. Simply because I love country music. Is it okay to admit that??

What is the strangest thing you have ever done?
I’m so not quirky. Really. I’m pretty boring. I have some bad habits, but can’t think of any that would be considered strange. This is a HARD question! LOL. Okay, I once was in a pageant trying to win some Cowgirl title. I can’t even remember now what it was, but it was very strange and I’d never done anything like that before in my life and totally embarrassed myself because I don’t like being the center of attention—in situations like that. LOL.

Are there things you put off doing because you dread them?
Typical stuff, cleaning house, laundry, cooking. I really DON’T like cooking. Exercising. Yeah, that’s a big one.

What's your favorite meal with family and friends?
Favorite meal is my mom’s roast beef, rice and gravy, green beans, corn, rolls and chocolate dream whip pie!

Are there spiritual themes you like to write about?
I seem to write about forgiveness, unconditional love, conquering fear, and finding God.

Share a verse or Scripture passage with us that is special to you.
I’ve always loved Proverbs 3:5-6.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Trying to find my way in life and struggling to figure out what God wanted me to do was a real issue for me. Very often, I found myself coming back to those verses, being reminded that God had a plan for me and I just had to trust in Him to reveal it to me.

When is your next book due out and can you tell us about it?
After A Killer Among Us, I have a book coming out in August with Love Inspired Suspense. It’s called Agent Undercover and is about a drug enforcement officer, Paige Ashworth, who is undercover in the small town of Rose Mountain, North Carolina. This story is actually a sequel to a novella I did that released in February 2010. The novella, Dark Obsession, was in an anthology called My Deadly Valentine. I loved the people in that story and wanted to keep writing about Rose Mountain. So…I did.
