with Anne Patrick

Welcome to The Book Loft, Anne!
People talk about life before children—what was your life before writing?

It wasn’t nearly as much fun! Actually, since I’ve been writing since I was a teenager, not much has changed aside from meeting deadlines. It can be challenging but it also keeps me focused. For instance, I recently sold my five-book ‘Wounded Heroes Series’ to Desert Breeze Publishing and I’ve only written the first book. I have release dates for all of them now all I have to do is write them :-).

What is your most difficult writing obstacle, and how do you overcome it?
When I have to stop in the middle of writing a book to work on the edits of a contracted book can be difficult at times. However, once I read the last couple of chapters I’ve written my muse usually awakens and we’re back in the zone.

What book have you recently enjoyed reading?
Irene Hannon’s Against All Odds. I also love Dee Henderson’s O’Malley series.

Which character in your new release most interested you while you wrote?
My sassy fire investigator in Fire and Ash, Sadie McGregor. She’s faced many obstacles in her life that have made her doubt God’s love. It was fun watching her evolve through the story.

If you were a dessert, what would you be?
Oh, that would have to be my Better Than Sex Cake Here’s the recipe if you’d like to give it a try. But I warn you, it’s addictive!
