Gail Pallotta's Clash

Clash of the Titles’ conqueror, Gail Pallotta, loves the ocean. As she so eloquently puts it, “In the evening red and gold streaks fill the powder blue sky above the emerald sea where the sun sinks. Slowly it casts its bright hues across the horizon and melts into the water. In the background the waves lap the shore in a constant rhythm.”

When Gail looks across the ocean to the endless horizon above, she is reminded of her heavenly Father. “Like God’s love the sky knows no limits. The ocean echoes His strength,” she says. “Standing in the midst of His sunset, listening to the never-ending tide, I sense His constant, steadfast love and power. I am lost in His vastness.”

It is there, beneath God’s beautiful tapestry, that Cammie O’Shea, rediscovers her faith.

“Cammie O’Shea, suffers a traumatic split-up with her fiancé,” Gail says. “At the same time she moves away from her friends and family to take a new job in Destin, Florida. Alone and heartbroken, she questions her faith. But when she goes to the beach, she relaxes in the bright sun by the emerald water and walks in powdery soft sand. She delights in a tiny sandpiper and marvels at the greatness of the sea. She lets her problems go and turns her thoughts to God.”

In Love Turns the Tide, feature writer, Cammie O’Shea, is shattered by a failed romance. She dreads starting work at a new newspaper, The Sun Dial, in Destin, Florida. But her real source of angst is Vic Deleona, a real estate developer she must interview. He thwarts her efforts to complete his article, arranges extra meetings, and attempts to court her. Still in pain from a heartbreaking split-up, she resists his advances. But mysterious break-ins occur at Cammie and her friend’s condos. Vic comes to their rescue. After he launches his own investigation into the crimes Cammie grows fond of him. Then she gets an offer to return home to her old job. Will Vic catch the criminal and win Cammie’s heart or will she leave Destin?

Reading a book set in Florida sounds pretty good to me right now. If I can't be there for real, at least I could be there vicariously. Please enter me in the drawing.
