with Cheryl Moeller

Welcome to the Book Loft, Cheryl!
What started you on your writing journey?

I was speaking to a lot of mom’s groups and it seemed like every other speaker came in and gave a list of “To do’s” or a list of “To don’ts” for moms and finally I asked myself the question, “Is anyone having fun as a mom?” Then, I answered my own question, “YES, I am!!” We can either cry or laugh and I have decided to find the humor in the everydayness of life and motherhood.

What distracts you from writing the easiest?
Not having a specific goal. So I make half day goals and full day goals for my writing. I also make week and month goals. And, I also have six month and 12 month goals.

What kind of books do you enjoy reading?
I like any book that inspires me whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, or a gift book.
My favorite gift book of the year – Celebrate the Ordinary by Diane Reed Loew

If you were a style of music, what style would you be?
If I had to be an instrument….
I think to think big, I guess I would be the whole orchestra!

What is your strangest habit?
I like to drink pickle juice, hopefully before everyone has stuck their fingers in the jar picking out their pickles.

Are there things you put off doing because you dread them?
I don’t like to do footnotes.

What's your favorite meal with family and friends?
My favorite meal is grilled Salmon with mashed potatoes and a fresh salad.

Cheryl Moeller -Lake Michigan Grilled Dill Salmon

Are there spiritual themes you like to write about?
I love to write about spiritual mentoring and sharing my faith.

Share a verse or Scripture passage with us that is special to you.
Because the Lord is my Shepherd; I have everything that I need.
Ps. 23:1
I love to give people copies of the Bible. It’s truly where you can find the Bread of Life and Living Water.

When is your next book due out and can you tell us about it?
My next book is due out Christmas 2011. It’s a crockpot cookbook with Harvest House Publishers. I am crazily in love with my crockpot! I am going to make it easy for you to have a healthy, home-cooked meal seven nights a week with your entire family. Harvest House is very excited about the project and they are hoping to place it in grocery stories nationwide. Their other goal is placement in kitchen departments in high end department stores.

You can purchase Help! Mom's Stuck on Spin Cycle from Cheryl's blog:

I don't drink pickle juice, but hubby uses it to spice up other veggies--he'll mix veggies and hot peppers in the juice and let them sit.
